Juniperus virginiana

This is one tough tree! Eastern redcedar grows on clay, sand, rocky, or basic soils. Female trees produce blue, berry-like cones that birds love to eat over winter. It’s delightful to watch. You may even spot an owl, who like to sit in evergreen trees. Makes a nice, native screen when planted 6 feet apart.
