Helianthus decapetalus

Ten-petal sunflower is a shade-loving plant that's naturally found along woodland edges. In late summer, the plants are topped with many large yellow flowers. Sunflowers have special value for wildlife, feeding many caterpillars, pollinators, and birds. Plants will spread to form a colony, so it should be planted in a patch by itself or paired with other vigorous plants.
